In this episode I discuss
Did you attend the Going Beyond the Food Project online conference? If not, this is your chance to get a taste of it… We recorded live the first Wrap Up Session from Day 1 and talked about: How crucial it is to change our perspective on our own journey, Gut health, and the Superwomen Syndrome … and I almost forgot the NO-MORE-DRAMA-around-food commitment we all need to take. Join in!
Wrap-up Session #1 – Going Beyond The Food Project
On Day 1 of the Going Beyond The Food Project, we had 2 talks from yours truly, and from our experts – Dr. Taz Bhatia and Dr. Will Cole. On the wrap-up session, I talked about our biggest takeaways and learning from each topic and speaker.
It was a privilege for me to share my personal journey on how it helped me to shift my life by changing my perspective from being a victim to being empowered on Day 1 of the Going Beyond The Food Project. It was about learning from the events that have happened to me that turned me from a negative place to a positive one. And I invite you to consider that for you and your own life. That’s the most profound change you can do to heal your health, achieve your goals or simply have a better perspective in life.
We’re also very lucky to have Dr. Taz Bhatia join us on Day 1, who talked about the Superwoman Syndrome which gave us an essential realization and something that we, women, must have – time for ourselves. I realized that it’s a common issue among women from different countries and backgrounds. It is making time for ourselves that has nothing to do with the world… And as Dr. Taz said, it’s not a selfish act.
Dr. Will Cole essentially taught us about Functional Medicine, which opened up this concept of looking at the root cause. This is generally what I mean when I say Going Beyond the Food – it is going to the root cause as to why you’re eating, craving food, why you can’t lose weight, etc… instead of covering the symptoms. But really, we need to find out why we have those behaviors towards ourselves, so we can heal that. No more covering the symptoms in any facet of your health, of your life!
Last week’s episode, I had an interesting conversation with Dr. Carolyn Ross and she shared with us how to stop binging and overeating in 5 steps. I suggest you check it out! You can listen to the episode here.
Next episode is about my interview with my friend and mentor, Sean Croxton, From Shame to Fame, which is my never-before-shared personal story as part of the Going Beyond The Food Project online conference. Join me in this very intimate interview in which I hope you can get some inspiration!
